Lee Rossi organized a memorial poetry reading for Anne last night at Beyond Baroque.  About 75 people attended and there was music (guitar and cello, and Alice Pero on Flute--separately); a number of people read both Anne's poetry as well as poetry they had written about her.  Refreshments were served.   It was a heartwarming and wonderful evening.

Once again I was able to feel the monumental change Anne made in my life.  One of my first reactions on her passing was the sadness that I would be starting the new year alone; alone once again.  But, no!!  Of the 75-or so people there, I knew at least 50 and greeted them warmly, as well as being embraced warmly by them.  We shared memories of Anne, and it was sweet, comforting and kind.  I am now a member of the synagogue she brought me into.   She didn't want me to be alone, and she saw to it that I was not.  She was absolutely amazing!!

Suzanne Lummis is establishing an Anne Silver Award for use of wit in poetry, which she will give
bi-monthly at "Speechless, The Magazine".  How about that?

Her mentor, Richard Garcia, (who is a notionally known poet) wrote a beautiful poem about her passing.  I'm ending this memo with his poem, and I have asked him for permission to post in on Anne's site.

All in all, a thrilling night.
